Dr Richard Jones
MBBS, FRNZCGP, Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine
Richard was born in Bermuda and attended higher education and medical school in the UK. Following graduation from Newcastle University in 2007 he worked in the Northeast of England before spending two years as a medical registrar at Tauranga Hospital.
He then returned to the UK to undertake his training in General Practice before returning to New Zealand and joining Bethlehem Medical Centre in 2015. Richard initially worked in our Bethlehem practice before moving his practice to our Ōmokoroa site in 2021.
Richard enjoys seeing the wide variety of general practice but has special interests in Skin cancer medicine (including skin chekcs), minor surgery, men's health and paediatrics. He is also involved with the WBOP PHO where he chairs the Clinical Committee.
Outside of work Richard enjoys spending time with his young family, travelling, boating and competing in triathlons (when time allows!)
